Andrew and Pauline Blumer had been trying to sell their beautiful Grade ll Listed cottage in the heart of Walberton, West Sussex for a number of months, without success.

They decided to change Estate Agents and approached Sims Williams, who have operated in the village for a considerable number of years, to value their home and explain how they would market their very individual property.

Thirteen viewings were arranged and within a matter of weeks, a sale was secured at 98.2% of the asking price.

After helping Mr and Mrs Blumer to sell their property, Sims Williams went one step further and found the couple their perfect next home.

Mr and Mrs Blumer were keen to stay in Walberton and Sims Williams helped, including notifying the couple about suitable properties before they were launched to market.

Pauline says, “Richard rang us one day and simply said, “I’ve found it!” and, he was right!

“He showed us a bungalow in exactly the part of the village we wanted to live and we knew straight away that it was the right property for us.

“It’s pretty impressive when your estate agent just “knows” they’ve found you the perfect property!” says Pauline.

 

Accurate valuation was vital

Before marketing Mr and Mrs Blumer’s cottage, Sims Williams partner Richard Moores explained individual older properties with the restrictions that come with being Listed do not appeal to everyone.

Identifying genuine potential buyers, proactive marketing and providing an accurate valuation, based on sales of similar properties, is vital.
