A total lack of local knowledge, poor photography and a pitiful number of viewings convinced house seller Lyn Brookman that online estate agents are a waste of time and money.
Lyn was selling her home in Yapton following the death of her husband and initially signed up with an online agent, believing the process would be easier and quicker than through a traditional estate agent.

“The first “local” property agent they sent around was from Brighton – 27 miles from Yapton – and they knew nothing about the village, local amenities or recent property prices,” says Lyn.
The property photographs had to be retaken and only four viewings were achieved in four months. Lyn had to show prospective buyers around herself and it was obvious they had totally incompatible property needs.
